The History of RGL 57 Y as we know it.

  Being a Mk1 the body shell must have been produced between
1967 and 1969.
  We believe that it was supplied to a kit car magazine as a
project vehicle, but the project build never took place and the
body was put into storage. 
  In approx.19** the kit was acquired by a Mr D. Allen who built
it up using all new Cooper 'S' parts, so the car was registered
as a new vehicle and given a 'Y' reg No. plate.
  Mr Allen competed in tarmac rallies, hillclimbs and sprints with
the car, where he achieved no small measure of success.
  We acquired the car about 10 years ago after it had been
unused for some time and required a major overhaul.
